Payment / Terms and Conditions

To confirm your reservation, we offer 4 options,

  1. Pay via major credit card:  Please enter your travel code in the section "Item" when making payment.

 

  1. Please contact your favourite local travel agency who will arrange your reservation / trip with our staff.

  1. To our Bolivian bank:  Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz S. A. Bolivia, Cuba Street # 1406 Corner Brazil Street, City of La Paz, Department of La Paz, Bolivia.

  1. To our Canadian bank:  Scotiabank, 202 Main Street, Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Y1A 2O6, Canada.

For direct reservation via Madidi Amazon Travel, a payment  of 50% must be done to either one of our bank: in Bolivia or Canada. 

The remainder of 50% is paid in Rurrenabaque, Bolivia upon arrival, payable in Bolivianos at the current rate of exchange or in Dollars usd.

Changing money in Rurrenabaque:  Rurrenabaque has one bank, "Fondo Financiero Privado Prodem".  It is a private finance fund company.  You can get cash advance on your Visa and Master card - 5% cost applied.  Prodem does not accept debit card.  You can also change travellers cheque but at a very low rate and it is not recommended.  We recommend that you withdraw the money you will need from a bank machine at the airport when you leave for Rurrenabaque.

Cancellation of trip / refund policies (not applicable to Special Expeditions)

Six months prior to travel date  85% of your reservation payment is refunded

One months prior to travel date  15% of your reservation payment is refunded

Less than one month prior to travel date no-refund is applicable

*  Refunds are processed via cheque drawn from our Canadian bank.

*  Special Expeditions no refund apply due to preparation / equipment and special activities in preparation for the expedition.

*  Please ensure your travel insurance provide coverage for any loss due to unforeseen cancellation.  We will assist you to our best in your insurance claim.

Restrictions

What we recommend that you bring:  Equipment for humid tropical weather to trek and travel by boat.

Important.  You should have:  1 medium size back pack for trekking, long sleeve cotton shirt and pants, light jacket or wind breaker, hat, hiking boots, sandals, swimsuit, rain poncho, sunscreen, bug repellent, flashlight and fully charged camera and video equipment in protective (very important) casing.  The temperature can be as low as 16 Celsius during July, August, September and October.
