Day 1 - Mapajo

Meeting point is the office of Albergue Mapajo or your hotel, departure from Rurrenabaque

Travel by boat to the Albergue Mapajo lodge, up river on the Beni river and the Quiquibey river

Arrival at the Albergue Mapajo lodge, from shore where you land on the Quiquibey river, it is a short 5 minutes walk to the lodge

• Welcome, fresh juice, orientation, and lodging

Trekking the Albergue Mapajo trail, a 2.5 hours beautiful trek to giant Albergue Mapajo trees

Return to the lodge and relax in the traditional round house or "shipa"

Nocturnal trekking in search of wildlife.  Bring your flashlight, your guide is your leader

Day 2 - Mapajo

Trekking to the local fields of Asunción del Quiquibey.  A look at local harvesting in the Amazon, how each family has its own parcel of land which provides food for his or her family

Return to the lodge

Trekking the "Dos Collares" trail, your guide will explain the different types of medicinal plants

Day 3 - Mapajo

Cultural experience in the village of Asunción del Quiquibey.  In this activity you will see how life basically is in a local Amazon village

Travel by boat from the Albergue Mapajo lodge back to Rurrenabaque, down river on the Quiquibey river and the Beni river to Rurrenabaque
